Builder.ai, Intergiro and Microverse Sweep up at the Europas 2022 Awards

Leaders in the European technology industry gathered in Lisbon last week for the annual Europas Awards.

The Europas Awards are a great way to highlight some of the best and brightest startups in Europe. Initially founded in 2009 by TechCrunch Editor-at-Large Mike Butcher, the award has been a bellwether indicator of innovation and creativity among Europe’s startups since then. Previous winners include Swedish music streaming unicorn Spotify; fintech giant Wise; and UK-based delivery service provider Deliveroo.

This year’s winners were no less impressive, with twenty companies taking home top prizes in their respective categories. Among them were some already well-known names such as Builder.ai, Intergiro and Microverse.

The accolade was granted after a rigorous judging process, with a particularly competitive fintech category that saw entries from some of the most innovative startups in the region. Ten fintech companies total were considered, with the decision made through a combination of public voting as well as a jury made of thought leaders from the European startup world.

Builder.ai, which was awarded ‘Scale-up Of The Year’, is a platform that allows businesses of all sizes to quickly and easily build custom apps without the need for coding skills. The company was founded in 2017 by Sachin Dev Duggal and Saurabh Dhoot, and is based in London.

Intergiro, which won in the ‘Fintech Startup’ category, is a Swedish fintech company that provides a financial ecosystem for innovators, including a financial toolkit that bundles card processing, card issuing and banking tools into a single API. The company was founded in 2017 by Nick Root, and is based in Stockholm.

Microverse, which was awarded ‘Hottest EdTech’, is an online school for remote software developers that connects students worldwide in small distributed teams to enhance learning. The company was founded in 2017 by Ariel Camus, and is based in San Francisco, California.
